John and I feel so privileged to have received the SCAD Style Etoile Award this past Monday night, along with fellow honorees Peter Arnell, Catherine Deneuve, Graydon Carter, and Sir David Tang. It was the 5th anniversary of the awards given by The Savannah College of Art and Design and the festivities took place at a gala gathering at the James Cohan Gallery in New York City. Unfortunately, Catherine Deneuve, Graydon Carter, and Sir David Tang were not able to make it to the ceremony due to erupting volcanoes and unexpected entanglements. But, the audience was packed with designers and design enthusiasts alike, including Sarah Ferguson and Master of Ceremonies and former Etoile recipient, Jonathan Adler. John and I truly love what we do and it is the greatest compliment to think that we inspire young designers. John and I want to thank President Paula Wallace for all that she has done at SCAD to promote great design and encourage students to enter the field. We are just amazed by the talent that continues to come from the SCAD community.
We look forward to heading to Savannah on May 20th to speak to the SCAD students – a trip that was unfortunately rescheduled after bad weather kept us in NYC last month.
