Trade Secrets
I look forward to this weekend every year – it’s the annual Trade Secrets garden event in Sharon, CT! This year’s Trade Secrets is very meaningful to me, as it is the 10th Anniversary year. I have watched this event grow from a fledgling garden sale in my backyard to an event that includes over 60 garden and antique dealers. This year’s highlights include four garden tours featuring the gardens of Joan Larned, Monika & Buddy Nixon, Robert Couturier and Jeffrey Morgan, and my own. In addition, there will also be a Saturday afternoon lecture, entitled “Abstraction; Art, Home & Landscape,” by Tom Armstrong, director emeritus of the Whitney Museum of American Art, and chairman of the board of the Garden Conservancy. As always, the weekend’s events benefit the Women’s Support Services of the Northwestern Connecticut, an organization that helps women who are victims of domestic violence.
The weekend promises to be full of interesting plants , interesting accessories, and interesting people …and the weather forecast looks perfect!

From the bottom of my heart, I thank everyone who has made Trade Secrets such a success, especially Elaine LaRoche, owner of LionRock Farm.

Please allow me to introduce my daughter’s new venture that was recently “launched” at the Philadelphia Flower Show two weeks ago. Botanical Collections has partnered with the creator of the Kew Royal Botanic Garden pottery and will be the sole licensee for marketing and distributing this gorgeous crackled and glazed pottery elements throughout the US and Canada.
We would greatly appreciate your consideration in reviewing our application as a vendor for your TRADE SECRETS event this May.
We would like to submit an application and could request Linden Hill Gardens (Jerry Fritz) to send a recommendation if necessary, as he spent a little time with us at the show and he thought that we would be a good candidate for a vendor and contributor.
We can send images of our pottery if you advise.
Thank you so much for your consideration,
Sincerely,
Steve Goggin
